About The Peru Cacao Aliance

OUR MODEL

A collaborative work model jointly with private-sector cooperatives and businesses.

ENVIROMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY

One of the Alliance’s main goals is to contribute to the mitigation of the effects of climate change. To that end, we promote sustainable agriculture focusing on greater productivity in less space, to reduce pressure on the land.

WOMEN’S ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT

Our goal is that female entrepreneurs have access to market opportunities. The Alliance facilitates learning spaces where women can improve their abilities and skills on production, business, financial education and soft skills.

ACCESS TO DIFFERENTIATED MARKETS

The Alliance promotes product differentiation by improving quality and volume. This facilitates commercial coordination between producers and buyers in exclusive and high-value markets, who pay better prices.

SPECIALIZED PROCESSES

The Alliance seeks to improve the quality of the products grown by partner families during harvest and post-harvest operations so that they can reach more demanding markets, of greater value and better prices.

ACCESS TO FINANCING

Encourage financing and access to credit so that male and female producers can invest in the technological model and increase the productivity of their cacao plots under agroforestry systems.

PROMOTION OF AGRICULTURAL TECHNOLOGY

To significantly increase plot productivity, the Alliance and its partners have developed a standardized capacity-building model to promote good practices in fertilizing, pruning, soil management, pest integrated management and crop irrigation.
