Uniterra is one of Canada’s main international development programs, jointly operated by the CECI and WUSC NGOs in 14 countries in the Americas, Africa and Asia.

Each year, 600 professional volunteers contribute their time, knowledge and experience to strengthen the abilities of local members (companies, associations and entities) with the aim of improving employment opportunities and promote entrepreneurship for women and young people and thus achieve a positive and sustainable change toward a more equitable world.

The Uniterra program in Peru works directly with cooperatives, associations and small-scale businesses in the cacao and tourism sectors, focusing on the northeastern part of the country. Moreover, it works with entities and public and private institutions on education and gender issues, thus contributing to the development and empowerment of women and young people.
